Health4TheWorld welcomes Dr. Michelle Floris-Moore. to provide a lecture on the cardiovascular risks of people living with HIV. Dr. Floris-Moore begins her discussion with an explanation of the issue; people living with HIV are at a disproportionately increased risk of cardiovascular disease and sudden cardiac death. She then explains the pathophysiology of the disease before describing how to perform a risk assessment for patients. Dr. Floris-Moore ends her lecture with modifiable risk factors that health care workers can focus on to decrease the risk for cardiovascular disease in their patients.
