Health4TheWorld welcomes Dr. Andrew Phelps from the University of California, San Francisco to provide a focused radiology lecture on CT Dose Reduction. Dr. Phelps starts by asking a few questions: “Do you know what the DLP is for your average CT abdomen/pelvis? Do you know what the units are, the number, or have a sense of what it should be?” The aim of this lecture is to talk about CT radiation doses and how to improve safety with radiation dose reduction. He provides several tips and provides more information on CT acquisition parameters. Dr. Phelps ends with his take home message, if your images are never too grainy, then you haven’t dropped your doses enough.
