H4TW welcomes Dr. Andrew Phelps from UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital to talk about pediatric non-accidental trauma. He discusses this topic to explain diagnostic findings seen in child abuse. Dr. Phelps provides the 3 responsibilities of the radiologist, find the fracture, estimate the age of the fracture, and know the specificity for abuse. He then discusses common injuries that are highly specific for child abuse. These highly specific injuries are hard to explain by accidental injuries alone and would be useful for any radiologist with a pediatric
population.
