H4TW welcomes Dr. Andrew Phelps to lecture on radiation dosimetry for the pediatric population. Dr. Phelps provides examples of studies that determine what doses of
radiation are acceptable to give on many common exams like chest x-rays or CT scans. Then he provides some of his own personal techniques that he uses to decrease radiation for kids. For example, if your CT images are not too grainy, then there is room to decrease the dose of radiation for that study! By following Dr. Phelps lecture, one can follow current guidelines and provide safe and effective diagnostic evaluations for youth.
