H4TW welcomes Dr. Rochelle Dicker from University of California, Los Angeles, to lecture about road traffic injuries. Dr. Dicker begins her lecture by acknowledging common barriers to developing healthcare systems and focuses on facilitators, or tools that can be used to strengthen systems already in place. However, Dr. Dicker explains that healthcare systems must also strengthen surgical capacity to strengthen their healthcare systems; an ethical and logical responsibility. Finally, Dr. Dicker ends her lecture on current and future directions of trauma and surgical care in the developing world.
