H4TW welcomes Dr. Tiffanie Sim as she lectures about the syndromes and emotional
sequelae surrounding stroke. Dr. Sim explains the biopsychosocial model and gives a framework
on how to think about patient care post-stroke. Although every patient is unique and their
stories may be different, Dr. Sim gives a framework on how to approach patients following a
stroke to enhance their care. Dr. Sim wraps up the lecture discussing how providers can help
patients develop awareness and insight into their conditions to decrease post-stroke
depression and increase patient outcomes and self-esteem.
