Dr. Meltzer provides her own personal story of how she navigated the workplace as a physician to become the Chair of the Radiology Department and she discusses some of the obstacles that presented because she is a woman in the workplace. She then discusses how to develop your own personal “Leadership toolbox” for self-reflection and continuous improvement. She also describes how to be a tempered radical and provides advice for slowly changing the culture in the workplace by chipping away at the norm. Dr. Meltzer is a great speaker and her narrative provides an intriguing lecture that would be beneficial for men and women alike due to her unique point of view shaped by her experiences.
