This platform is designed to connect international physicians with American medical students for the collaboration and publication of case reports. Interested physicians may submit cases of interest that they hope to publish. Interested medical students will then investigate the appropriateness of the case and literature. A panel will then determine the next step forward in developing the case report.

Background

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” text_orientation=”justified” header_font=”||on||” text_font_size=”17px”]

On an international rotation in Dakar, Senegal, I realized that there was an astounding range of interesting medical cases, worthy of publication. I noticed however, that several factors, including time constraints of physicians, resources, or English-writing proficiency prevented the publication of many of these interesting cases. Research offers physicians in Senegal and throughout the world increasing expertise in their fields, and is an important factor in the promotion process. In the United States, many medical students seek research opportunities to grow their knowledge base, and publish material in order to become more competitive applicants for residencies. Establishing symbiotic relationships to collaborate on case reports is win-win for both parties. We cannot assure that these will be published but a unique opportunity to work on research together. We are excited to partner with Health4TheWorld, to expand this platform through their already flourishing international relationships!

Vision

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” header_font_size=”100px” text_font_size=”18px”]

The goal is to create a platform for international research collaborations. We hope that this grows to be the main platform where international physicians and medical students pursue and collaborate on research opportunities. International relationships are powerful and sustainable. There are many exciting possibilities that can stem from each of these collaborations. Through these connections, both physician and student would have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding and inspiration for promoting advancement in global health. These connections may form a foundation for abroad experiences, including international rotations, mission trips, and resource sharing. To achieve this, both parties are encouraged to connect beyond their case report collaborations.
